How to get security jobs?
Here are three tips: 1.
Be careful with what you say to people.
If you say, “Hi, I have a great job in NYC,” don’t be surprised when you don’t.
You’re probably just a job seeker.
2.
Don’t expect a good salary.
In New York, a security guard usually makes between $8.50 to $10.50 an hour.
But some companies offer higher pay, sometimes $17 an hour, which is higher than most other places.
And some of the top companies, like CAA, charge more than $100,000 per year for security jobs.
3.
You may be asked to help out with security.
New York has no laws requiring security jobs, but there are a few that require you to help people out.
If a police officer says, “I need help from a security officer,” ask him if he wants to come by and help you out.
Security guards also do a good job when it comes to helping out in a hotel, a gas station or even in a store.
If the customer asks you to check a bag, ask you to put your phone away, not to use it. 4.
If someone is working for you, be careful about what you tell them.
Security companies say that if you say things like, “You have to give me a good rating on a test,” you’ll probably get fired.
Also, don’t say, “…
I’m looking for a security job, but can’t find a good security job in New Yorks.”
Security people are usually in a hurry, and they often don’t want to hear what you have to say.
Dont say anything like, “…
We have a security situation, and we need to get everyone to get here as quick as possible.”
They may not like it.
If they do, they might even think you’re being rude.
They may even think that you’re lying, or that youre not doing your job.
The safest way to handle this situation is to say, if youll be working for me, Ill do my best to make sure you get the job you want.
You can also say, I cant wait to tell you about the job.
If youve been a security employee in New Zealand, you probably wont be working with someone like the security guard who told you to work on the subway.
But security jobs can be a lucrative one in New Jersey.
There are more than 700 companies offering security jobs to New Jersey residents, including several that are paid well over $100 per hour.
You should always ask for a pay cut if you can get a job in this industry.
